KUALA LUMPUR: I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening announcement for The Exchange TRX, the upcoming lifestyle hub situated at the heart of Kuala Lumpur's emerging international financial district. Scheduled to welcome visitors on Nov 29, 2023, The Exchange TRX boasts an impressive 95% occupancy rate, hosting over 400 stores across 1.3 million square feet of nett lettable area.
Mitch Wilson, the Project Director and Head of Retail at Lendlease Malaysia, expressed his excitement about the overwhelming support from leading international and local brands for this innovative retail concept. Wilson emphasized the importance of creating a modern retail experience that considers its impact on stakeholders.
"As the social component of the Tun Razak Exchange international financial district, we have designed communal spaces within The Exchange TRX to act as a catalyst for an ideas-driven economy. This culminates with TRX City Park, the largest rooftop public park to be opened in Kuala Lumpur in recent times," he stated.
The Exchange TRX aims to redefine the luxury retail landscape, featuring renowned retailers such as Gentle Monster, a cutting-edge eyewear brand from South Korea. One of the anchor tenants, Seibu, will occupy a substantial 250,000 square feet across four levels, adding to the allure of this vibrant shopping, dining, leisure, and entertainment destination.
