Hiking: Lata Lepoh, Hulu Langat

Lepoh Waterfall is located at Ulu Langat, Selangor. It took is about 20 minutes driving from Ampang. It’s quite confusing to get in, you have to make sure to follow a signboard of ‘Air Terjun Lata Lepoh’.
You have to drive all the way in and park your car at the parking space in between guests houses and lake. The parking fees is about RM 5. However, not many of us know about the parking space and most of the visitor park at the road side with caused jammed and a one way road for car.
There is a zip line, kayak and guest house available too with booking in advance. We did not explore that since our main purpose is going for hike. But goo that we know about other activities available there.
So, we started our journey from here…

The trail have a unique wooden bridge, it is old but stably built and set; then with a long trail of trek.
There are a lot of wild plants along the way. Since we went there during Jackfruit and Durian season, you can smell them on every step you go in LOL! We went through banana zone, bamboo zones, only with a couple of time upward trail in about 50 to 60 degree slopes, over all are mainly at 20 to 30 degree slopes.

The slopes that you have to go through to go up is about 30-45 degrees and there’s a spot with a pleasant smell of the wold flower. It falls down like the snow flakes, except for the coldness.

Location: 15 km north of Ulu Langat, near Kg Pangsun, Selangor
Total Distance: ~ 7.5 km
Max height: 584m
Elevation Gain: 385m
Difficulty: Flattish start. Decent incline throughout. Undefined paths.

You have to be extra careful and watch out for any wild insects in the jungle, you don’t want to kill them or step on them. We found huge Millipede at the riverbank (You can compare the size with my finger! :p)

If you are planning to hike there, make sure you have enough stamina and energy. Easy to see, but not easy to climb :p So, there is a waterfall on top of the hill, which we found pretty small and it is not convenient. There is no based for camp as well except for a small one that we found not safe for over night as it is not enough high.
Getting there Jump on the LEKAS Highway (E26) and continue until you’re on the SILK Highway (E18). Take a left off exit 1807. At around the 4.8km mark exit left onto the E7. At the 4.3km mark take exit 703 on the left then keep right. At the traffic light turn right. After the SM Hulu Langat school (on your left) at the traffic light junction (there’s a police station on your left) take a hard right onto (B52). Its straight for the next 20.5km. The turn off from Jalan Ulu Langat towards the trailhead is a 1.5km no-through road, and is only 2 kilometres short of the turning to the Gunung Nuang-Pangsoon trailhead.
